Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts is back in business
After YEARS of remodeling and construction, the Henry J. Kaiser Center is opening back up. To celebrate, the center is hosting a number of events this weekend:
Skate the Town - Skate the historic arena floor. All skills and ages welcome. Rentals will be available. | Friday, 7-9pm all ages, 9-11pm 18+ skate. Tickets →

It’s coming… The OMWB’s White Elephant sale is returns to Oakland this weekend, starting with the coveted Preview Sale. Monday’s 3-alarm fire injures 6 — The uptown blaze that broke out Monday morning has reportedly injured 6 people including 1 firefighter. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. In the meantime, the landlord recently issued eviction notices to all tenants.
Napa County reports first measles case since 2012 — The unvaccinated child became ill after visiting South Carolina, where a measles outbreak is currently underway. Health officials in Napa have stated there is no threat to public heath at this time.
Say bye-bye to 30 Peet’s Coffee locations — The formerly Berkeley-owned coffee giant is set to close 30 Bay Area locations this year. The company changed hands (again) last year and is now owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper (KDP).
FBI raids 4 East Bay chop shops — On Wednesday, the FBI raided 4 suspected chop shops across the East Bay in connection with a larger diesel fuel theft ring.
