Glowfari returns to the Zoo
This Weekend: A First Friday magic show, square dancing, and cocktails

Good morning! A new petition is circling the internet to reopen Oakland’s Mountain View Cemetery to 7 days a week.
Quick refresher: Prior to the pandemic, the cemetery was open 7 days a week to visitors. After the pandemic, the cemetery remained closed due to a dispute with the City of Oakland over unpaid permit violations — fines rumored to be as high as 7 figures. Ouch.
Now, some locals are organizing to get the board of trustees to reverse the decision. FWIW the cemetery IS open 3 days a week: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am - 5pm. But if you’ve ever walked the grounds, you’d understand why it’s missed.
