Oakland Restaurant Week: 2026 Top Picks

…Or ORW for the cool kids.

Oakland Restaurant Week returns March 12 (today) through March 22.

Now in its 16th year, ORW features over 140 restaurants offering special deals and events.

Participating restaurants are offering prix fixe lunch and dinner courses at (actually affordable) price points including:

  • Lunch: $15, $25, $35

  • Dinner: $35, $45, $65

If you’ve got a few local spots saved, consider the next 10 days as the best time to drop in and try something new.

Fireworks and E40 at the Oakland Roots Home Opener
If that title doesn’t sell you, what will? Oakland Roots kick off their season in the Coliseum this Saturday against New Mexico United with a halftime performance from E40 and fireworks to close it out. Y2K Popup Market at Northlake

175th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
This is an Oakland (East Bay) newsletter. But if there’s a few reasons each year to head into the City, St. Patrick’s Day parade is a good one. Parade starts Saturday at 11am from 2nd & Market to Civic Center. Wear Green.

Stories from The Bay

Just pile it on: OUSD owes the city $860k — Oakland School District can’t catch a break. According to CA law, school districts must reimburse cities for elections. OUSD hasn’t done so since 2020. Yikes.

Illegal dumpers to get vehicle registrations pulled — A proposed bill aims to enact harsher penalties for illegal dumpers in the Bay including refusal of vehicle registration. Fines do exists, but of the $1.3M in fines issued from ‘21-’24, only $109k has been collected.

TIL: There was a Gus’s Fried Chicken in Oakland — And now it’s closed… along with a number of other restaurants and bars last month including: The Athletic Club, The Barbary, and the Xocolate Bar in Rockridge.

March heat wave coming to Oakland — The National Weather Service is calling for temps “well above normal” through the weekend and into next week, with highs of 89F by Tuesday.
