Destination: Cosmos

Ever wonder what a star sounds like?

Next Friday, you can find out.

KQED Live and Chabot Space & Science Center are marking 80 years since the first Earth-selfie from space with Destination: Cosmos, an immersive sound voyage at The Loom event space.

You’re invited to step inside a 360-degree sphere of light accompanied by a 3D sound system with KQED sound artist Christopher Willits at the controls.

Think ambient soundscapes layered with vintage rocket launch footage and the electromagnetic hum of space.

It’s part concert and part planetarium with a dash of “were those brownies the you-know-what-kind?”

Friday, Nov. 6, 6pm. The Loom, 2150 Livingston St. Tickets from $55.

  1. No (54%)

  2. Yes (34%)

  3. I prefer in person (12%)

I’ll be honest, I’m still sitting on my ballot. I like to go down to the wire. KQED has a good resource here on measures and candidates.

That’s a wrap.

Thanks for reading. I’ll be trick-or-treating in the Elmwood with the fam. If you spot a family of vampires and mention Oaktown, I’ve got a jello shot for you.

Stay safe this weekend!

See you in town,
